Last week we went to the Amish Produce Auction and I bought 90lbs of produce for $37 (.41 / lb)!! I promised to share with you what I bought so here goes:
40 lbs of tomatoes – $24 (.60 / lb)
50 lbs of #2 potatoes! – $13 (.26 / lb)
Who-hoo!! Not overly exciting?! I think so and here’s why:
A friend posted a link to this article a while back on her facebook page about the 7 Foods that Experts Won’t Eat. It disturbed me because while we normally eat home canned tomatoes, I didn’t get enough this year to last me through the winter. In fact, I wasn’t able to can a single quart. Tomatoes were on my short list because I had this article in the back of my mind – I really wanted to bring some home.
