There are all kinds of theories on the best stocking stuffers.  Some people fill stockings with practical items, some with gag gifts, some with little presents, while other people mix and match and fill stockings with a variety, and some people don’t do stockings at all! I really think the best stocking stuffers are frugal, fun, and edible – and this year, I’m going with a breakfast in the stocking theme.

The Best Stocking Stuffers – Breakfast in a Stocking

Breakfast in a stocking serves two purposes – it keeps the kids fed during the gift opening process, and fills the stocking with items that won’t end up cluttering my house! If you’ve been reading my blog recently you might by familiar with my consumable Christmas gift theme. I’m trying hard to banish the clutter from my home, and giving consumable gifts certainly helps! I headed to ALDI to find the best stocking stuffers for my Breakfast in a Stocking theme, and here’s what I came up with.

Frugal, Fun, and Edible Stocking Stuffers from ALDI

  • Navel Oranges – $1.99 for 4 lbs
  • Organic Apples – $4.99 for 3 lbs
  • Tangerines – 3.49 for 3 lbs – ALDI also sells Cuties sometimes and I would recommend them over the tangerines if you’d like to avoid seeds.
  • Organic Juice Pouches – $2.99 for 10 – these are something I wouldn’t normally buy, but for special occasions, I can splurge, right?

  • Mini Babybels – $2.89
  • Simply Nature Fruit & Nut Bars – 3.99 – By the way, if you aren’t familiar with ALDI’s Simply Nature line, you should head over here to read about. This line is made without 125 unhealthy ingredients, items that really have no business being in our food anyway, as far as I am concerned.
  • Moo Tubes (yogurt in tubes) – $1.79 – another item I don’t normally buy, but the kids like them and ALDI removed all artificial food colors from their brand products this year, so I will buy them now.
  • 6 pack Raisins – $1.29

  • Assorted hollow chocolates from Germany – $1.99
  • Solid chocolate balls from Germany – $1.29
  • Chocolate Santas from Germany – $1.99
  • Pistachios – $.99 Chocolate stocking stuffers from ALDI - frugal, fun,and edible SimplifyLiveLove.com

Stockings are somewhat new to me. I never even had a stocking when I was a kid, and I really enjoy filling my kids’ stockings each year. I love German chocolates that ALDI sells so much. It brings back such fond memories from my childhood in Germany. And I also love that with ALDI’s low prices, buying chocolates and other healthy stocking stuffers doesn’t break the bank.
