Crowd Pleasing Party Menu

I’m spending this week in Central Missouri with my family and I don’t have to cook!! YAY! So instead of posting my weekly menu/freezer plan this week, I decided to share a menu I planned for our company Christmas party last week.

My husband and I own a small home remolding / construction company in Eastern Iowa called Oak Tree Homes. We have a few carpenters and work closely with my husband’s family. Suffice it to say, they are not the most adventurous when it comes to eating. Every year we host a Christmas party and I do the cooking. I like to cook different things each year because I get bored with the same old stuff. But I have to be careful with the menu selections, or they won’t eat it.

This year, I scoured the internet and blogs looking for the recipes. I asked my friends on Facebook. And then I used Pinterest to organize the recipes I found. It worked really well!! Are you pinning yet? It’s so fun… 🙂

Here’s what I came up with:

On All Recipes, I found a recipe for Roasted Pork Loin. I made a marinating rub from fresh rosemary, garlic and olive oil and roasted an 8 lb pork loin in Chardonnay. It was soooo good! 🙂

I served it with these Perfect Baked Potatoes. I had a baked potato bar with bacon, cheese, sour cream, and green onions. The potatoes were really good, but the fixins set it off.

We also had these Green Beans with Bacon – ummm bacon! Yum!

And then I made one of my all time favorite salads – Good Cheap Eats’ Chi Chi Salad and my own take on Artisan Bread.

For dessert, I baked a Lindy’s Cheesecake drizzled with homemade hot fudge and topped with homemade whipped cream.

Now, I might be biased, but I really think this was one of the BEST meals I have ever served. If you need something for a special occasion, I highly recommend this menu – even if you aren’t trying to accommodate picky eaters! 😉

I’m sharing this menu at MPM and Inspire Me Monday.

  1. YUM! I worked at a restaurant where they rolled their potatoes in bacon fat and then in kosher salt before baking - delicious! I might be adding this menu to my holiday meal plan...
