CB-sponsored-post-white-400I have been wanting a pair of blingy jeans since my 20 year high school reunion this time last year. I know. I am really. that. old. 😉 But in all seriousness, one of my best friends from high school, Amy, and I talked about going shopping for new jeans last Christmas. It never happened though, and this past week, I finally went to Sears in search of an affordable pair of the perfect jeans because I desperately need a new pair!

I have 5 specific criteria for the perfect pair of jeans ~

1. They need to be “skinny” and preferably a dark wash with a little bling. – When my husband and I were in Paris a couple of weeks ago, I did a lot of people watching. I used to consider myself somewhat of a fashionista. That’s changed a lot since having kids and moving to Iowa, but I have slowly been getting back into the fashion groove. I noticed while we were in Paris that skinny jeans are it! O la la … French women don’t seem to wear a lot of jeans, but when they do, they are definitely skinny. I also wanted a dark wash with a little bling, because I can. Just because I live in the sticks in Iowa doesn’t mean I can’t dress it up every now and again, even with a pair of jeans! 🙂

2. My perfect pair of jeans must have real pockets. I bought a pair of jeans a while back that had fake pockets in the front. They drove me nuts. I have lots of stuff to keep in my pockets – cell phone, keys, change. There’s nothing worse than a pair of jeans with fake pockets, in my opinion. My perfect jeans must have real, usable pockets – front and back.

3. They need to be comfortable and move with me. ~ Now, I don’t plan to work outside in these jeans, but with 4 kids, a couple cats, a big garden, and more animals on the horizon, there’s a pretty decent chance that I will be chasing something, some time. So jeans that I can move around in are a must.

5. They need to be long! At 5’9, I have a hard time finding jeans that are long enough. And jeans that show my ankles just really don’t do it for me. I want jeans that come all the way down to my shoes, with a little room to spare.

I think I nailed it with these jeans! What do you think? And would you guess that I found them at Sears!? I really did. I was very pleasantly surprised by Sears’ selection of jeans. These jeans were under $20 and my $50 purchase at Sears using my Shop Your Way card, {cuz you know I didn’t walk out of there with just one pair of jeans – I also got this denim shirt I’m wearing and another pair of skinny jeans as well!} earned me a free $15 reward as well! I’m off for a couple more shirts to go with my new jeans. too!

You can see pictures of all the jeans I tried on at my Google + album, and please connect with Sears on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date on all of the latest fashion trends.

Those jeans look fabulous on you!! Sears has really come around to offering some great clothes and accessories. And the kids did a great job taking these pics of you too. Very nice!!

those look great & comfy! we are about the same age so next time I am jeans shopping -which I am growing to dread- Sears will be where I head! thank you!

Movement is a big must in any jeans I own and they have to fit my waist and not be too baggy in the hip and legs. Which is often hard with my body type. I am with you on having usable pockets. I had one pair of jean with these little short front pockets that wouldn’t hold anything at all. I ended up not wearing them very often because of that.

I need to take my mom-in-law jean shopping soon, maybe we will have to check out Sears too. Your new jeans are really cute.

I pray skinny jeans never go out of style. If they do, I’m screwed. And I love your hair, by the way. Do you color it, or is it naturally that kick-ass strawberry blonde?

Kelli…I’m loving the skinny jeans, too!! This is my natural color. I used to want to dye it jet black, but I don’t think that would go well with my see through eyebrows and eye lashes, freckles, and pale complexion… Heehee!

Your jeans are SO cute! I love your criteria for finding jeans. And you make a great point about needing REAL pockets. So glad you found ones you love and scored a deal!

The major problem with many jeans, skinny or not is that they don’t stretch in length, only in width.
So if you bend over frequently, kneeling etc. the waist gets pulled down and you have to pull your pants back up each time you get up again. Plus providing wrinkles. Maybe only jeggings would fit the job then.
I like my skinny MissChristy jeans but liked them more if being jeggings i guess.
