Life Update ~ September

Have you missed me? I haven’t been blogging regularly lately and I apologize. I sometimes hear people say they hate blogs that make life look all beautiful and rosy –> blogs that seem to hold women and mothers to some unattainable, high standards. Well, here’s my confession. I’m having a hard time holding life together right now. I have about 1,001 blog posts written in my head {and of course I want all of them to look beautiful}:

A couple reviews and giveaways  {one of which I have to have up today}

And many, many more

Some of these, I’ve even already started {some have been in the works for 6 months or more…}! Some are waiting for the perfect picture. Others are waiting for the meal to turn out beautifully for pinable pictures. Most of them are just waiting for time.

See, my life right now is interesting. We’re living in our barn, which is good and bad. We have two very distinct and separate spaces – my downstairs kitchen, laundry, and shower {a more outside space than inside} and the upstairs, climate controlled living area. It’s been so hot and dry here these last few weeks that it’s hard to make the transition. When I’m downstairs in my kitchen, I’m hot, sweaty, and stinky. I’m working in my garden, canning tomatoes and green beans, and trying my best to find a breeze.

When I come upstairs, I feel like I need to shower first or I track all of the dirt inside and make the living space dirty. Oh, who am I kidding. I haven’t cleaned the upstairs thoroughly yet since moving in at the beginning of July! Let’s keep it real, right? I also haven’t finished unpacking.

And school started. Now I’m busy trying to organize and manage four kids with different schooling, needs, and activities. The college classes I teach also started a couple weeks ago. And for some reason, because I cannot say no, I find myself with double the teaching schedule I normally have. Some days I feel like a chicken with my head cut off.

I just wanted to let you know that I am not a super woman. I’m having a hard time finding balance right now and unfortuntaley, my blog is the first to go. But, I have a lot in the works and I will work hard to get the awesome posts I have in my head down on my blog.

So hang tight, bloggy friends!! I will be around, but probably not as frequently as I have been in the past. Maybe I’ll even post some pictures of my mess so you can feel better about your own houses. 🙂 If you can’t stand the wait, come find me on Instagram. I post pictures all the time.

  1. Go right ahead and focus on life. I am in the same boat as you right now, so many post ideas and so much of life happening right now. Actually I should be asleep getting ready for a long day tomorrow (roadtrip!, and all of us have a strange cold or some such thing). Instead I am going through the video camera clearing off old photos and videos, making room for new ones. My what memories. You know, though, if I hadn't taken time to do those things all the post ideas in my head would be on the computer ... but then I would no longer have anything to post about because I wouldn't have been out living life. At least now you have a 'written down' list of ideas that you can reference and choose from quickly. :) Keep your top priorities up there and we will all just have to be patient and look forward to your return.
  2. Personally, I don't see how you have any time at all to blog! I've never seen anyone with so many projects and still able to care for and homeschool her kids. You're amazing! And Nora is a cutie. :)
