Natural Stink Protection for Farm Girls

Natural personal care products are very important to me.  I especially need a long-last deodorant with natural ingredients: one that is free of harmful ingredients like aluminum, triclosan, and parabens. But it also has to work because I sweat. A. Lot. And it’s stinky.  I lead a pretty active life: crossfit, gardening, taking care of chickens, kids, and dogs, mowing our 5 acres, foraging. You name it – we’re outside doing it. I’ve tried a ton of different types of deodorants and am excited to share a bit about Tom’s of Maine with you today!

The weather this summer has been a bit frightful. We’ve had massive storms and lots of rain. It’s getting hot and it’s been seriously sticky for a while. We’re currently living in a gorgeous barn while we build our forever house, a passive house that will use 90% less energy than its typical American counterpart.

You might wonder what the heck the barn has to do with deodorant! We’ve been living in the barn since last July, and while it’s a gorgeous setting for sure, the kitchen area that I spend A TON of time in, is not air conditioned. While our living area does have AC and is quite pleasant, it’s really hard for me to go from unconditioned space to conditioned space and back again in the course of my day. So, in the heat of the summer, when it’s really nasty and sticky outside, I’m right out there in the thick of it for most of the day: only showering at night so I can enjoy the AC without being a sticky, stinky, nasty mess. And when I say it’s hot in my kitchen, I mean hot. Last summer it was often above 95 degrees in there. 🙁 Since I’m really busy late in the summer preserving my garden bounty for us to eat all winter long, I HAVE TO STAY IN THAT HEAT!!

What this all boils down to, is that I am very happy to have Tom’s of Maine Natural Deodorant as a safe, effective, and most importantly STINK FREE natural deodorant brand. I love that I can order it on Amazon from the comfort of my own home {or barn, as the case may be}. It’s really price effective, too. I paid $17.99 for a six pack of the Long Lasting Honeysuckle Rose . With free shipping on Prime and no sales tax, that comes out to under $3 a stick. Not too shabby! I also ordered Tom’s of Maine for my hubs: Long Lasting Deodorant for $14.97 and was excited to find a $2.25 coupon on his! After coupon, his Tom’s deodorant came out to $4.24 each. I also love that I can head right to the Tom’s of Maine website and see every ingredient clearly listed. The ingredients are also printed right on the deodorant label so I know what I’m putting on my body with little sleuthing required.Natural Stink Protection for Farm Girls #FreshNaturally #cbias #shop2

From the time I get up in the morning to the time I go to bed at night, Tom’s of Maine Natural Deodorant helps keep me stink free, even after hours tending the garden, kids, chicks, and dogs in the lovely Iowa summer heat and humidity. It doesn’t keep me sweat-free, but the BO is missing. And this Iowa Farm Girl so needs that natural protection.

How do you keep yourself stink-free?

You are right ! I started using Tom’s of Maine deoderant many years ago because I was concerned about aluminum as an ingredient. It works great.

Also glad to hear that you have moved into the barn. Too bad about the kitchen w/o a/c!!
