Price Matching List 6/22/11

I’m rethinking my produce purchases this week to reduce our exposure to pesticides. Since I don’t normally have a lot of room in my budget for organic produce, I had hoped that soaking in vinegar and/or peeling my conventional produce would help keep us safer. After reading the EWG’s 2011 Produce Guide, I’m now wondering which varities of fruit and veggies absorb pesticides systemically, as they claim. Until I research that a bit further, I will try to buy conventional produce off their  Clean 15 List, and organic produce off their Dirty Dozen list.

That said, here are my favorite deals this week:

    1. I missed some of the sales but that's a great list, thanks!

I didn't get as much of a garden in this year as I'd hoped, I was afraid most of it would get trampled by workers. But I got some stuff in. And there's always next year!

oh and if I get my greenhouse set up I can have some fresh stuff during the winter too I hope!

Are you doing any preserving this year?
    2. Thanks, Michele!

If all goes according to plan, I will be preserving - tomatoes, pickles, peas, corn, we'll see what else...my garden's looking great. I hope it stays that way!
