When I first starting buying Halloween costumes at Goodwill, the prices were generally under $5 each. This year, I was lucky to get outfits that cost under $10 each. However, I still managed to get 4 fun Halloween costumes for my kiddos for under $30 total! And that makes this Mama happy.

Halloween Costumes at Goodwill

Ben liked this dragon costume for $9.97! I thought it would be perfect for our cold winters in Eastern Iowa.

And Cora really like this princess dress. I did too! But she wouldn’t get it and I was bummed.;-) I would have just bought it for dress-up, but $10 was a tad out of my price range that day. Of course, I’m kicking myself now…

And Anna wasn’t there so the other kids and I picked out this cute, handmade clown costume. I was thrilled when she actually liked it! I was a little bit worried that she wouldn’t.

Here’s what we ended up with! This year, I will have one Halloween Princess, one Halloween Fairy, a Halloween Gladiator, and a Halloween clown. I’m having fun watching the kids play in their costumes. I just hope they last until Trick-or-Treat!

What are your kids going to be for Halloween this year and where to you get their costumes?

  1. Kat is going to be Harley Quinn (character from Batman, I think). I still need to make her costume, which will be recycled/up-cycled from items I found at one of our local thrift stores. I think the total cost was less than $10.

  2. My younger two are wearing leopard costumes that my sister and I wore back in the early 80’s! My mom was an amazing seamstress and the costumes held up after all these years. My oldest is going to be a fairy princess and my mom made the costume for her. My husband and I need costumes for a Harvest Carnival and I, too, will be hitting Goodwill this week. Our costumes the last few years have been thrown together last minute and pretty lame.
