Shrimp Pad Thai Recipe @SimplyAsiaFoods

One of my new found favorite foods to cook has to be Asian food. We lived in Okinawa, Japan from 1998-2001 and got a real taste for the local cuisine. During that time, we also traveled around other Asian countries and got to try authentic Korean, Thai, and Chinese food. I wish I could claim to be good at cooking Asian food, but truth be told, it takes me years to perfect new recipes and I only recently just started cooking with an Asian flair for some reason. πŸ˜‰

This past weekend, we celebrated the end of the Chinese New Year (the 15 day celebration ends TODAY!) with a small feast of egg rolls, won tons, jasmine rice, and fortune cookies. Actually, I made my family celebrate without me. I cooked it all, but I wasn’t feeling well that evening and got in a slight argument with my husband over something stupid. So, I cooked them all supper and went to bed. πŸ˜‰

Simply Asia Foods recently sent me a sampler box to try out and I was happy to put a few of their products to test. They sent a really nice bottle of Asian Sweet Ginger Garlic Seasoning that was delightful in my home made egg rolls, and their fish sauce livens up many an Asian dish. Also, Jasmine rice is my all time favorite rice and they sell that, too!

I’ve bought @SimplyAsiaFoods goodies before – Pad Thai Noodles was one of my favorite dishes when we went to Thailand many years ago. And their Pad Thai noodles are quite tasty. Beautiful food from a beautiful country. Since I have already shared my recipe for homemade egg rolls, I’m sharing the Thai Kitchen’s recipe for Shrimp Pad Thai today!

  1. Pad Kee Mao is my absolute favorite. I will never switch to anything else. All I need in my life is this sweet, spicy, basil filled dish. YUM!!!
  2. What a great Pad Thai recipe! I always order chicken pad thai when I eat Thai, but I've never made it at home. Thanks for sharing this recipe because it's definitely doable in my kitchen. Thai Kitchen products are some of my favorites and I do have a couple of condiments in the fridge. The red and green chile pastes are the best!
