Christmas came early this year for me – in the form of a mini shopping spree at Sears! With four kids and a husband to take care of, I rarely splurge on myself; so when I was given the chance to take a look at the new searsStyle fashions, I was super excited!

Have you seen the new commercials on TV with the woman who sheepishly admits to buying her cute clothes at Sears? I recently saw one of those commercials and it really made me giggle, because I’m going to admit that I was a little skeptical at first myself. I have a vision of granny pants and appliances at Sears – but not really fashionable clothing I would want to wear. But, boy, was I pleasantly surprised by what I found!! I love the black cardigan in the above picture. I think it makes a great outfit paired with a fun skirt and tall boots. And guess what? I got them at Sears! Oh, yes I did. 😀

Before I went to Sears, I wanted to find out what they’re selling these days. So, I first looked online at the Shop Your Way website.

blankThe Shop Your Way website was really useful. I got to see what’s being sold at Sears and pick out things I thought I might like to buy. I added articles of clothing, shoes, and accessories to my own #ArtofFashion board and then remembered those things when I went to the store! I could have bought them directly from the website, but I wanted to go to the mall because I haven’t been in quite a while.

Once at Sears, I had fun picking out clothing and accessories to complement my current wardrobe. I’m a pretty causal gal, but I do like to dress up on occasion. I wanted to maximize my purchases so I could use everything for both casual and dressy outfits. blankI saw a lot of things that interested me and ended up with a pair of jeans, two nice cardigans, a skirt, a scarf, and a fun top for just under $100. I’m pretty happy about that. But the best part of my purchase is that by using everything I bought, I can come up with several mix and match outfits ranging from casual to quite dressy {for me}! You can see photos from my whole shopping expereince at my Google + Album here.blankHere are two of my outfits – using many of the same components. I plan to wear the dressier outfit to our annual company Christmas party next weekend. And I’ve worn variations on the casual outfit several times already. I love the scarf – what a great way to dress up an outfit!

blankI also can switch the scarf out for this fun, red ruffle cardigan and get a whole new look! The cardigan is soft and comfortable! It’s fun to wear. I’m loving my new clothes. They’re comfortable. They’re casual. AND they’re dressy! I’m all ready to sparkle at our upcoming holiday events and beyond. That’s a win-win for me – I need all of my things to serve double duty, even my clothes!

Thanks searsStyle for helping me with the art of fashion and reminding me to take time out to focus on me! I know from experience that when I feel good about the way I look, that feeling carries over into all aspects of my life. I’m really glad I took the time to make my appearance sparkle a little more!
