From this week’s Tuesday Garden Party Host, Michelle from SimplifyLiveLove.
I headed down to Central Missouri this week to visit with my parents and my 91 year old grandfather who is not doing that well. I always love the drive down south as the season’s change – because I get to witness the changes from my car. Spring in Missouri is quite a bit ahead of my home in Iowa, which makes me hopeful for its march north.
I also always like to come to Missouri to see what my dad’s up to in his garden. He has taught me a lot about gardening and is always helpful to lend a supportive voice when I call screaming about the latest nasty bug I found in my plants. His 7000 + square foot garden produces a good portion of the food he and my mom eat, and he donates a lot of the surplus too. He’s already planted all of his potatoes and onions, as well as greens, kohlrabi, and chard. Spring is coming to all of us – this trip south has given me renewed hope.
As always, I am happy to see what you all are up to in your gardening efforts. I’ve picked a few posts this week that I really enjoyed!
I love this Tree Limb Trellis shared by Moms’s Sunday Cafe.
