You don't have to, but your chicken will look nicer if you tie the legs together with cooking twine, so do that first, if you want.
Next, mix the spices with the oil.
Brush the spices on the chicken.
Insert trivet in Instant Pot, add chicken broth, and then carefully put the chicken on the trivet.
Select the proper cooking time based on the size of your chicken. For a fresh 4 lb chicken, cook on high for 25 minutes.
Preheat the broiler after the Instant Pot beeps done.
Allow the pressure to release naturally for 15 minutes, and then quick release any remaining pressure.
Carefully open your Instant Pot, venting away from your face. Insert a meat thermometer into the meaty thigh and verify that the internal temperature of the chicken has reached 165 degrees. If so, carefully remove the chicken to a cookie sheet. If not, seal up the Instant Pot and cook for 5-10 more minutes.
This is optional, but your chicken will develop a crispy rotisserie skin only if you broil it in your oven for 2-3 minutes, or until your chicken is nicely browned.
Enjoy!
