It’s never too early to think of homemade gifts to make out of your garden bounty! With a little thought, you can make wonderfully practical and homemade gifts months before Christmas and start checking off your gift giving list early! Get organized now for an easier November and December.
Homemade Gifts to Make Out of Your Garden Bounty
Some of my favorite canning recipes are included below. All of these food items are tried and tested and family favorites at my house. If you like food in jars and have a water-bath canner, make some of these items to give out this year!
These gifts are not only delicious, but also very practical. I enjoy giving useful gifts each year, and I know that these food items will be thoroughly enjoyed as they are all so so tasty!

Sweet and Spicy Four Pepper Jelly Sauce – Take Two Tapas. This sounds like a delicious way to use up some of your pepper harvest!
Homemade Ketchup Recipes – Common Sense Homesteading. I’ve never made ketchup but my tomatoes are LOADED this year so maybe I will give it a try.
Natural Calendula Soap Recipe – Lovely Green. Calendula is such a fabulous herb – so great many healing properties.
Homemade Peppermint Salve {for dry skin} – Melissa Norris. Homemade salves are really thoughtful, in my opinion.
Herbal Bath Bombs – E-How. I never really know what to do with all of the herbs in my garden, but herbal bath bombs would be an easy way to use up some of them.
Herb Blends – Gardening About. Another great way to use up those herbs you have in your garden.
DIY Melt and Pour Loofah Soap Recipe {from your own Loofah} – Soup Deli News. Loofahs are a lot of fun to grow and I actually have some left over from a few years ago.
Homemade After Sun Lotion Recipe – Garden Therapy. This would be a great gift for all the people on your list who burn easily…like me!
Herb-Infused Honey – A Delightful Home. Honey is so versatile and full of medicinal properties as well. Find a local honey and infuse away!
Holiday DIY: Herb Infused Vinegar – Kara Lydon. For food safety’s sake, make sure you strain out and discard the herbs you use to infuse the vinegar before you give it!
Herbal Jelly – Gardening About. This is a pretty easy idea if you have lots of fresh herbs in your garden. Add them to store-bought or homemade jams and jellies and you’ve got an instant gift!

Such lovely ideas! Too bad everything I try to plant gets eaten by bunnies! At least I know I’m keeping them well fed. 🙂
Drat the bunnies! I don’t have a problem with them, but I have seen some homemade rabbit deterrents on pinterest. Maybe you could give them a try. 🙂
